Summer 2019 weather thread

In the 70's. I lived in High green..Quite high up.. during a storm... if you looked in the right direction (across towards Ecclesfield)..you could see some fantastic Lightning in the sky and hear massive thunderclaps that followed.

 

My mum told me that if it Thunders and Lightens... It means that 'Iv'e done something naughty'...!

 

Yeah me and me palls just scromped half a dozen Apples and a few pears from the local farm..

 

Hardly worthy of being struck down by Lightning, I  think..!

 

Good proper storms though..Not like the whimpy little effots we see today.!

I'd welcome a thunderstorm right now if it lowers the temperature and doesn't cause any damage. 

 

It's been too hot today, the hottest day in the UK since records began over a century ago according to what I heard on the radio.
