FIRETHORN1   58 #1 Posted June 17, 2019 (edited) A friend of mine has recently returned from Egypt and brought me back a gift.... a big bag of high quality saffron strands. It's a delicious, delicate-tasting spice, but something I've rarely used, because it's so expensive to buy over here. Has anyone got any saffron recipes that they could share with me? I tend to cook savoury dishes more than sweet things, but I'll consider anything.  So far I've made saffron rice, a saffron fish tagine and a very posh fish pie with saffron mash. I've also used it in a marinade for chunks of chicken breast and thigh, which I threaded onto metal skewers and cooked in the oven over a roasting tin....all of which turned out really well.  Edited June 17, 2019 by FIRETHORN1
 Share this content via...
