Food waste collection feedback required please

Recommended Posts

Hi

this may appeal to anyone in the food trade,i am looking for feedback on a researched business idea where your food waste with the exception of glass is picked up at your premises and charged at around £2.00 per bag [bin liner size] or larger consignments by negotiation by a registered waste carrier then taken to a licensed facility where it is treat to become suitable feed stock for an anaerobic digestion plant.

Thank you any comments welcome.

Its not a new idea, been done for years. A good food waste contractor either washes the bins after collection or swaps them over, not all do. They are don't on a round on a certain day(s) of the week. Some people have 240L wheelie bins but most have 1,100L bins. Bags are not a good idea.

From business premises? The op says they are looking at people in the food trade.
