Some kid got five years for a stabbing another lad to death a few weeks back,FIVE YEARS! How long before its an on the spot fine?

Theres no deterent,justice system needs overhauling and the death penalty needs to be re introduced,crime has to have serious consequences.

Community Payback isnt/shouldnt be the fall back,its poorly run,understaffed and doesnt fullfill its criteria,re offending rates are going upward,we need to come up with better answers

Regardless of that fact, if a vote was taken capital punishment would be back. People are still in the eye for an eye mentality.

Serious crime needs serious penalties to protect those who abide by law in society,5 years for stabbing someone to death is no deterent,if there out in 2 years on tag for 12 months thats hardly prohibitive to them re offending

Draconian sentencing - and indeed the death penalty, are not deterrents.

Not true. 100% of people sentenced to death do not re-offend.
