Old Crown, Penistone Road, Hillsborough- Ronald/ Joan Lambert

Does anyone remember the landlord of this pub- Ronald Lambert? He was the licencee 1949- 1974 and Joan Lambert follows him until 1994. Was Joan Ronald's wife? Just fact checking a few bits for some research I am doing.

Hi, they were my sister's mother and father in law. John and Janice were the landlords until 1995. What is it you need to know? I can ask my sister if I'm not able to provide the info you need x

Thanks for the reply. I got the dates from the licensing records but I was wondering if Joan took over the licence from Ronald after he died ( as was often the case for landladies ) and if so if she was landlady 1949-1994 it would make her one of the longest serving in the city. Any help appreciated and if your sister has any pictures I may be able to use them in the book I am working on. Thanks

Hi old crown.  I was led to believe this pub was haunted.  Used to frequent it in evenings prior to wedding in church next door in 1969.
