Real Wood Worktops

Recommended Posts

I’m currently about to replace our kitchen, the wife wants to use real wood worktops but I’m against the idea, has anyone got any experience of them?

I have an oak worktop.

Positives-

Looks nice

Can be 'rejuvenated' by sanding down and re-oiling to remove slight damage / scratches / marks

Negatives-

It can pick up stains if not kept well oiled

Marks/scratches easier than 'plastic' worktops- but see above

Id be happy to have it again if I was renewing my kitchen

ditto the above - although mine are in an area where detergents etc are frequently placed on top.

Lot of protection needed (IMO)

If you haven't seen any try Worktop Express(online) for some good stuff.
