Who next for Tory Leader/PM?

at least Hunt has stuck his neck out and pushed back against trump

But unfortunately he is a hopeless lightweight.

During the debate, when Julie Etchingham was about to set Johnson up with the question about whether he would sack Kim Darroch, instead of simply answering her question, Hunt started waffling on, off the subject so that when she did eventually get to ask Johnson the question, the moment had passed. Even when Johnson refused to answer the question and Etchingham was pushing him for an answer, Hunt kept interrupting her shouting ‘Answer the question, Boris!’ over the top of her, which eventually got Johnson off the hook when they ran out of time.

Like I said, a hopeless political lightweight! 🙄

Boris's refusal to defend Darroch just highlights his total lack of any kind of moral framework - and is firmly rooted, no doubt, in his wish to stay on the right side of the orange idiot.

Even though he's slagged him off previously

Now that its becoming increasingly obvious that Boris will win its  noticable and predictable that the Tory MP's are falling over themselves to cosy up to him in a transparent attempt to garner for themselve a top job. Previously he was an idiot who couldn't be trusted.

There is no moral  or idealogical backbone to the party unless keeping Corbyn out counts. They openly admit that they only want to cling on to power.

I hope the old guard  brings them to their senses but I'm not holding my breath.

He already has won.

A person who has been involved with many Tory elections in the past, said that 90% of postal votes are returned within a week of receiving ballot papers. Johnson knows this and that is why he was so desperate to avoid a head to head debate until at least a week after the papers went out.

A smart move too, as I hear that many Tory members were not a bit happy when he put US interests before British interests by not supporting Kim Darroch, but had already voted for him by then! 😢

Interesting.   Corbyn has been calling for an election for ages.

But which one will it bite in the bum?

Given the number of conservative mps who have been ambivalent about supporting the new government in a vote of confidence then they really don't have to plot very hard. The new leader could be out within a week,

Alan Duncan has just resigned in anticipation of a Johnson win.

Like with Trump’s administration in 2016, there seems to be a flight of competent ministers from the government which means that Johnson may end up having a cabinet made up of B and C list ministers.

The other reason that people like Hammond and Duncan have/will resign is so that they are free to oppose any Johnson buffoonery from the back benches.
