But given his minority government, not enough to get things done. He’s going to bin the backstop. Terrific. How, and more importantly, who, is he going to **** off with his solution?

Without the backstop, the DUP come back on board and he'll have a majority.

But members of his party might not like it. A hard border? That won't go down well. Border in the Irish sea? That won't go down well either - certainly not with the DUP.

I've given it a bit of thought, picking a new leader prior to another election is just pushing chairs round the deck of titanic. Nothing will change, the ship will keep sinking.

And how exactly to you propose to remove the backstop from the withdrawal agreement?

He’s an idiot - bright, educated, bit of charisma - but an idiot.

i wouldn’t trust him to walk my dog never mind run the country.

anyone who could vote for him needs their bumps felt.

The idea of Boris (or St. Jeremy) being PM fills me with horror

The only way not to have a backstop is to have a customs union. This is what Labour want and this wasn’t even close to being achievable in the recent negotiations. This will split the Tories right down the middle. I have no idea where you get your Parliamentary arithmetic from.

That's actually a good point, the tories are getting panned in the polls but labour should be doing so much better. Boris and Corbyn at the dispatch box would be a scream. Boris talking in latin whilst Corbyn talking about Maria from Macclesfield whose bins aren't getting emptied on time.

Maria from Macclesfield should be complaining to the Tory,  Cheshire East Council (well actually NOC But Tory dominated at the moment).  Failing that, she should contact her MP for help. Would you like to guess which party he represents?

So, I’ve no idea why Jeremy Corbyn, a London Labour MP, should be helping Maria from Conservative controlled Macclesfield.

Other than that, your example stands up to scrutiny 😂

I was discussing how Boris unites people.

Boris Johnson unites the crackpot wing of the Tory party and ththe largely reactionary membership but no one else.

What happened to the next Prime Minister needs to unite the country? All we've seen lately is about saving the Conservative Party and sod the country.

Johnson will say we're binning the backstop and we'll have no border check on our side, it then becomes a problem for the EU. They may want to erect a border, who knows.

That is just nonsense!

If Johnson want to leave on WTO terms he will be legally obliged to police any border which has different tariffs to the UK.
