Sacking this nurse seems way too extreme.

Youd think we live in a country that outlaws Christianity.

Rightfully dismissed. You can’t force a religious opinion on anyone no matter how well intentioned.

No you wouldn't, because no-one has told her she can't be a Christian. They've just told her it's not ok to go on and on and on about your religion at work to people who are there to be cared for, not preached to, and that it's not ok to spend more time talking about religion than actually doing your job.

Really?

I couldn't have broccoli with my chicken dinner last night because the law says that my local Tesco can't full trade on a Sunday. I believe that the Sunday trading laws originate from a Xtian practice that used to be called the 'Lord's Day Observance'.

So although I'm not a Xtian the law says that I must adhere to Xtian traditions on a Sunday.

Remind me again how this 'country outlaws Christianity'. 🙄

If she had been warned before and decided to ignore the warning, she deserved the sack.

Sad to hear because I would never want to see someone sacked.

Not extreme at all as she was in breach of Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) rules so should abide by them as its not part of the nurses duty to project their religious beliefs on patients. Most hospitals have Chaplains who are specially trained for working in a hospital setting and the person responsible for the Christian administration in a Hospital.

Couldn't they have just been told to stop doing it? sacking seems extreme.

She'd previously had a warning but still carried on..............

She deserved to be sacked.

You live in Australia - is Christianity outlawed over there?

It isn't in the UK.

She had been warned not to do it again (several patients previously complained). She undertook not to do it again. Then she did it again. I'd have sacked her.
