Forgotten classics and originals, played with class and passion. When was the last time you heard songs from Slade, Sweet, Rick Springfield, Don Henley, be Bop Deluxe, Lou Reed , Georgia Satellites etc etc plus some of the more esoteric Thin Lizzy? Rock with a rock n' roll swagger - they smashed it last time they played and are only getting better.9.30pm, free entry Saturday 25th May: Gav Coulson Group Highly respected guitarist Gavin Coulson arrives at The White Lion this evening, but this time with his own group. Playing a selection of fine tunes from Deep Purple, ZZ Top, Jimi Hendrix to Stevie Ray Vaughan and Gary Moore amongst many others, a belter of a rock night is anticipated!Baz Groom - Photographer and Reviewer for Rock of The North..."What band in their right mind would perform the Allman Bros "Whippin Post" on a Friday night in the Boot & Shoe? More importantly, get away with it? Well that band would be the Gav Coulson Group. The same song even got em' up dancing (until they realised the song is a tad over 3 minutes!) And along with tracks from Gary Moore, Hendrix, Glenn Hughes, Walter Trout and a blistering take on Joe Bonamassa's version of Just Got Paid, the group went down a storm. Most know of Gavin's prowess on the guitar, but this is no 'one man band'. Four cracking musicians who know their stuff. Keyboards from Chris Pilkington ex Storm Bringer & Empress really give the band a rich sound. Ably assisted by a powerhouse rhythm section, this is rock blues at it's best!!"  9.30pm, free entrySunday 26th May: The Sunday Jam Hosted by The Carnival, our afternoon jam takes place every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month.
