Did anybody watch the start of this brilliant Shane Meadows drama last night?

Shot on location in Sheffield.

Yes, I got distracted many times trying to figure whereabouts in Sheffield they were.

Enjoyed part 1 though

A couple of good Meadows' films are:

Room for Romeo Brass

Dead Man's Shoe's.  The ending wasn't what I thought it would be.  Also got ex-boxer Gary Stretch in it.

His flat was on Cliff Street.

Started off assuming it would be in Liverpool, but as soon as he came outside I shouted out "That looks like the Lansdowne!" Then the tram stop was a dead giveaway.

I wouldn't have guessed the pub, though it was clearly not a Spoons - his bar bill would have been much higher.

Shane Meadow's film company 'Warp Films' are located in the Work station so it figures he'll use Sheffield as a location

Prisoners Wives (couple of years ago) used the same flats.

Its 100% percent Hen and Chickens. I think the Tram Stop is Granville Road.

He goes in a 2nd pub.  Could be The Museum?

Somers Town, One Day In The Midlands and Real Time are also worth a watch.

apparently all the " actors" in the pub scene were regulars at the hen and chickens so all this helps with the " amateur / realistic feel " to it .
