Also worth noting is that those that have appeared before the select committee said that lie detector tests were 'right about one third of the time'. Was that ever said on the show, when lie detectors were used?

IIRC there was a really quick bit of text in the end credits saying something about the accuracy.

Jeremy Kyle and his programme were a symptom of the culture. Judge (Grindr) Rinder isn't much better.

Isn't it abit late to be holding a select committee enquiry?  It's been cancelled, but had aired for 14 years already.

What do they expect to accomplish?

From memory, I think they used to claim about 85% accuracy but that didn't stop Jezza calling failures dirty liars. Never understood the mentality of anyone wanting to go on his horrible show.

They're trying to scapegoat Jeremy Kyle and his show for their own failings and showing that they're concerned and doing something.  Recent governments have allowed broadcasters to put out this type of trash for too long.

Plenty of people went on though, must have been several thousand given the run it had

No great surprise he wasn't willing to attend the committee then

You think the government should control what is broadcast? Oh dear.

Jeremy Kyle has made his money out of this show so he doesn’t need to attend any enquiry.
