I tried to get a 8 be 4 cut at Cortonwood and the guy said that they could only guarantee cutting to the nearest cm. When I asked him if I could cut it myself he told me that I wasn't insured to use their machine.  Went to the place on Herries Road in the end. PIP   0 #15 Posted May 23, 2019 I had some MDF cut at B&Q on Greenland road some years ago and it was spot on with the sizes, but if I remember correctly they charged 50p a cut.
 Share this content via...
Bilge   34 #16 Posted May 23, 2019 Some have mentioned Wickes. I don't think they do cutting at all. I've always used B&Q or a specialist wood yard.
 Share this content via...

DerbyTup   10 #18 Posted May 25, 2019 I would have guessed 'anywhere in Sheffield that sells timber'.  It's not a hard question this one is it?  I bought some plywood recently - from Homebase and also from B&Q.  I bought 9 big sheets of it. I only bought it because we'd had the lawn turfed and couldn't walk on the grass for a few weeks, but still needed to be able to move a water sprinkler around the lawn.  I now have no use for this plywood at all. But I'll probably hold onto it, because it's the kind of thing my father would have done, justifying it by saying, "it might come in handy one day".
 Share this content via...
