Yeah but   0 #1 Posted April 9, 2019 (edited) This is not a list of my favourite songs but they take me to a time and place. I could have included dozens and dozens but I've whittled it down to ten.  Innuendo - Queen. https://youtu.be/g2N0TkfrQhY I was mesmerised by this song as an 11 year old. I taped it off the radio and listened to it repeatedly.   So Real - Love Decade. https://youtu.be/JG95V2o195I In the charts around the same time as Innuendo; when I hear it I'm 11 and in my bedroom again. I taped this off the radio and listened to it a lot as well.  Annie's Song - John Denver. https://youtu.be/RNOTF-znQyw My mother used to play John Denver songs all the time when I was a kid. This one I remember fondly.  Slow It Down - East 17. https://youtu.be/wElMM3huvDk  Bitty Mclean - Dedicated To The One I Love. https://youtu.be/VMTLDKbmlEs Takes me back to the carefree summer of 1993 when I was 13.  Tsunami - Manic Street Preachers. https://youtu.be/cuGpE73NwYw This is one of the songs that got me through a lonely period.  My Way - Limp Bizkit. https://youtu.be/WvnzxeqCpcw I played this in the car when I first started driving around 2001. At the time I misheard the lyric "my way or the highway" as "my way ON the highway".  James Blunt - High https://youtu.be/c3c6M2cohns.  Will young - Who Am I? https://youtu.be/hR4kZ8-qrFI  Starman film theme song - https://youtu.be/nip7k0m08PM Edited April 9, 2019 by Yeah but
 Share this content via...
wearysmith   141 #2 Posted February 5, 2020 God knows. Ask the wife. Or family. Or friends. Or enemies. People see your best and worst sides far more than you can see them in yourself. Stands to reason. I wouldn't dare to try to pick songs that define me. Easier to ask my 10 favourites - and seeing as I've been collecting music since the mid-60s, I may take some time to get back to you... Can't see you getting many replies to this one chum.
 Share this content via...
