Guest #1 Posted March 27, 2019 Does anyone know why the pavement is being dug up (again) at the top of Flat Street? I know work is being done in Fitzalan Square but the bus stops at the top of Flat Street were re-positioned only a matter of months ago and now they have been dug up again. It is causing issues for people wanting to catch the 120 and other buses which previously stopped at the top of the hill as they are now having to stop further down which is causing congestion and confusion amongst passengers, particularly as there are no signs indicating where these buses are now stopping. Michael_N 36 #2 Posted March 28, 2019 They seem to really be messing up the area. Look at the back log of traffic now on Commercial Street due to the junction revision at Haymarket/Fitzalan Square. Total mess!
 Share this content via...
SkyeEdge 10 #3 Posted March 28, 2019 They are redoing the paths on the whole of that side from the interchange upwards. It's a complete mess at the top at the moment but it will be much improved once finished, no more wonky paving slabs (for a while at least!). Now if only they would do the same on Fargate and get rid of the awful uneven paving.........!!!
 Share this content via...
carosio 186 #4 Posted March 28, 2019 (edited) Employee in the Mecca Bingo told me it's for a taxi rank, also they are removing the steps up to Arundel Gate, not sure why, but looks like that's part of the scheme. Had a look at the drawings, there will be spaces for three taxis outside Mecca Bingo with other bus stops behind, and enhanced access to Arundel Gate. Shazbat 10 #5 Posted March 30, 2019 Love *sarcasm* that they paved all the way along Pond Street, including a vehicle entrance to the back of Hallam Uni and the entrance to the NCP car park with no dropped kerbs or anything to alert pedestrians/drivers alike that there is potential danger there. Hallam has put warning signs up but nothing as yet at the NCP.
 Share this content via...
