swarfendor437 Â Â 14 #1 Posted March 21, 2019 (edited) The Zorin 15 Beta is now out. This is a great leap forward for GNU/Linux in general. To save me reinventing the wheel (I already have my 1+ 3T synced with the Beta with Zorin Connect, available in the android store), all the blurb here - and yes I will be creating an unofficial manual for the latest release of Zorin, hopefully in time for Easter! Yay! Â https://zoringroup.com/blog/2019/03/20/and-the-next-version-of-zorin-os-is/ Â I can use my phone as a slideshow remote to scroll Firefox - whoop de doo! Lost an interactive controller? Not needed in Zorin 15! Â And now LibreOffice 6.2.1.2 with an up-to-date interface to beat the opposition further! Â Edited March 21, 2019 by swarfendor437 Wowsers! Guest   #2 Posted March 22, 2019 I am so unbelievably happy by this post. I cannot express my joy and general happiness by being informed that a beta version of an OS that I don't use has been released. I am sure many other Sheffield Forum members will also be unable to contain their amazement at this news.
 Share this content via...

swarfendor437 Â Â 14 #5 Posted March 24, 2019 (edited) Hi Kidorry, Â The core version will always be free (there is a request to make a donation but you can skip that). Somebody posted that it even got a mention on Forbes: Â https://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2019/03/22/linux-zorin-os-15-touch-interface-desktop-theme-and-android-sync/amp/ Â The beta is free of course but it is advisable not to install to a working pc you are dependent on - trying it in live mode however will not upset your machine. swarfendor437 Â Â 14 #9 Posted April 7, 2019 OK, I've started work on the manual which is for the Beta but the final version should be not too dissimilar - used the original 12.x manual as a starting point - just a quarter of the way through or thereabouts: Â https://app.box.com/s/86u0eimt3vqqgim08ukv9e9o2ejwsy64
 Share this content via...
swarfendor437 Â Â 14 #10 Posted April 15, 2019 Updated Manual a little further tonight so the new link is this one: Â https://app.box.com/s/sp7uzb7r2o731g7jkn6tcb8gxvtz6gvy
 Share this content via...
swarfendor437   14 #11 Posted June 8, 2019 (edited) The Beta has now reached the Final Release Stage. Zorin has now made Core Free of Charge - no ask for donations - but it may appear that Ultimate users are subsidising Core users at a high price (?) of €39. However you do have to bear in mind that Zorin 15 being based on Ubuntu 18.04 will be supported until 2027 so not bad price. Core is totally free as will Education and Lite.  The manual has been updated recently - still w.i.p. The link has not changed, just the latest version of the document.  Promotional video: https://zorinos.com/  And they are hoping to launch dedicated hardware: https://zorinos.com/computers/  In the meantime there's always Entroware: https://www.entroware.com/store/index.php?route=common/home Edited June 9, 2019 by swarfendor437
 Share this content via...
