How do I know where a website pulls its information from - example, a price...

... comparison website?

If I look at website source code, what should I be looking for OR is there a Chrome plug in that tells me which websites the website I am on is referring to? OR is something like this possible to track down at all?

Thank you for your help.

I don't think the code is in the website source . It will pull in the info you have entered, and the comparison site servers do the search based on data they hold or form submissions to the potential suppliers. You just get back the result.

You'd only see something like that if all the data requests and calculations from external sources are performed in the browser; I wouldn't imagine any decent price comparison website would do that, as it would/should all be done server side in the database and the results are what the browser would load from the backend.

What exactly is it you're wanting to do? Might be able to help better if you ask directly what problem you want solving.
