I suspect that even a second referendum with effective constraints put on outside interference and fake news on social media will still feed off the seeds planted in 2016.

I doubt there will be a second referendum but even if there is there will be no constraints put on it so expect more of the same, whatever that was.

So would I.

So with all the problems facing our country you think concentrating on one issue is more important?

Haven't we already lost enough time to this?

I think the main problem facing our country at present is if we are a democratic society, or if democracy has been consigned to the rubbish bin by those who quite obviously favour the latter.

Why not?

Ireland was fairly successful in getting facebook to block US anti-abortion sites from interfering in last year's abortion referendum.

The effectiveness of what was done then has been brought into question.

Do Russian bots get to vote in U.K. elections?

Explain how that works

I honestly have no idea if Russian bots vote in UK elections.

What I do find quite worrying is that a desire to boot out the Tories, leave the pro-business EU and elect a progressive government somehow means I am an electoral saboteur working for a foreign power.

What I find worrying is that bots may somehow think they’re not bots and are real people.

At least they tried and the referendum result showed that they were unsuccessful.

Something we can learn from.

It’s not clear what you are. You appear to claim to be advocating some sort of self contained socialist utopia where everyone is cared for, free from the capitalist EU.

But the reality of your wish is that an EU free UK would be much more at the whim of market forces and right wing pressures than the EU would ever be. To be honest, I find it very hard to believe that anyone would honestly think the way you claim to.

What makes me suspicious is that there doesn’t seem to be a single internationalist bone in his/her body which is very unusual for a socialist!

when i looked this morning we were still a constitutional monarchy where the executive authority of the monarch has been devolved to a bicameral legislature where one house is appointed and the other elected.

Artificial intelligence. Professor Stephen Hawking warned us about this in 2014.  Link
