Let the EU do the checks.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is a fine example of what we are up against as a nation.

Sociological studies usually do more than ask people.

The fact that there are a million odd studies actually makes it harder to dig out the relevant ones.

That's some excellent dodging there. You should be on Question Time.

Can you remember the title or part of the title of one of these sociological studies? Google is pretty good at finding things even if you can't remember exactly what you're looking for.

Claiming that the vast majority of leave voters haven't achieved much in life is quite a strong statement (and that's coming from a remain voter) and so I think it would be worth trying to dig out just one of the studies that have evidence for that assertion..

Which is why I didn’t claim that.

Not dodging at all. Do your own research!

.... because the typical leave voter, if such a thing exists, is someone who has achieved very little in life but chooses to blame everyone but themselves for their plight. Professional moaners, in other words. 🤣

You said, and I quote 'the typical leave voter, if such a thing exists, is someone who has achieved very little in life..'

So you think a typical leave voter has achieved very little in life, but don't think that's true of the majority of leave voters? I'm confused. What makes a leave voter typical, if not representative of the majority?

You even yourself admitted that a typical leave voter might not exist, but then you immediately followed that by saying that if they do exist, they have achieved very little in life. That seems very bizarre. Which sociological study was it again where you got that fact from?

If the EU has to do border checks on the republics side then let them. But it’s like a stuck record putting the blame of a potential hard border on the UK.

maybe we SHOULD embrace our European counterparts rather than reject them, for two millenia they have influenced our Roads,Language.culture and finesse.food wine and of course Sport. A strong Union could be just what's needed to offset the emerging, unpredictable economies of Asia, Russia and now Trumpton. As a small impoverished Island we will have about as much clout as Tuvalu.

O.K. there may be healthy competition for the sun beds at idyllic holiday spots on the continent but that is preferable to the conflicts which took place in the recent centuries.

Shame the record got stuck.

But that's were the blame will lie. We were the ones who voted to leave the EU and we are the ones who having spent years negotiating a mechanism for keeping the border open have decided we want to reject it.

Echoing the comments made earlier about the US attitude to the Good Friday Agreement: We'll block trade deal if Brexit imperils open Irish border, say US politicians.
