Again, willful ignorance.  There is every reason to think that a hard border is likely to lead to a resurgence in the troubles.

The Brexiteers  don't care mate. The lies and mistruths are so far embedded into their brains it's beyond repair. They will leave at any cost.

The pending collapse of British Steel might focus some minds in Scunthorpe.

They wont be bothered, they will just blame everybody else, probably the remainers.

I wouldn't bank on it.

Too many brainwashed Brexit supporters in the North and North East see the truth as project fear and fake news as the truth. Like some of the former Isis supporters in Iraq and Syria it will take them years to realised that they have been mugged off big time.

I often equate brexit to a cult. Given up arguing about it these days, seems a pointless exercise 😐

There seems virtually no Brexit arguments left other than 'we voted for it so we should get it' even though prior to 2014 most leave supporters neither knew nor cared what the EU was. How many times do we see middle aged white men being interviewed on the television saying, "we don't really care what happens when we leave, we just want out!"

It has a smell of the whole Lady Di thing where a sizeable minority of the population became obsessed with mourning someone they had never met.

It's actually quite creepy! 😵

That's because there aren't any benefits to leaving and everyone was told that at the time. We are, and always will be better off in on the deal we already have. A good indicator of that is in the fact that nearly three years on and seven consequence threads later not one single one of the shouty die hard brexiteers on here has ever once posted a positive reason to leave, other than "we won and that's that".

Ridiculous.

Yep, and in 10 years time nobody will admit to voting brexit in the same way nobody admits to buying candle in wind!

Interestingly a few years after Lady Di was killed, the University of Glasgow conducted a study of the phenomenon around her death. What they found was that despite the public perception that the entire nation was united in grief, only 18-20% of the population actively engaged in the collective mourning, that is signing a book of condolence, placing flowers on a memorial, buying the Elton John single or attending or watching the funeral.

We have a very similar situation now with Brexit where a small minority is making an awful lot of noise to give the impression that 'the people' are demanding Brexit.

So, Trump has declared that in trade negotiations to come after we leave, the US will no longer be ripped off by the NHS.

Scary.

Come off it, Brexiteers scurried away when it was time to deliver on their promises, those that didn't simply failed to (in David Davis' case) turn up half the time, remember to bring a pen, or do even the most basic due dilligence.

Davis and his impact assements that proclaim boats sail on water and ports are near the coast fit for a child, through Goves "we're sick of experts" and Boris "f*** business", on to Fox's "easiest trade deals in history" ending up with Raab's "didn't understand the importance of Dover"!

All have been in key positions and all have failed miserably both in ability and delivery, no-one had to scupper them, they did it all on their own!

None of them had the power to do anything.
