If the validity of voting results depends on the veracity of campaigns then we need to overturn the results since parliament began.

We already do, they are called elections. Unfortunately leaving the EU cannot be "voted out" if you want to call it that, because we will never be able to rejoin on the same deal we have with them now. That is when democracy will officially die in this country.

You think that filter coffee is unusual?

No it's just that most ordinary families I know drink instant. If ordinary families that are feeling the pinch that much then they wouldn't go spending extra on wine and beer in restaurants either.

There is no need to be so sniffy, or dismissive.

Not being sniffy, dismissive yes.

Inflation has had its toll but that is not much at all and it is not such a bad thing.

If you read both articles then you can see that the People's Vote one is just based on warping the statistics to suit, and it also states that the manufacturers have also absorbed most increased costs. It then goes on to say that despite that the extra cost then gets divided by 27 million households and yet it was absorbed by the manufacturers. Only one of them can be right!

As I have stated previously, in a Socialist lead and created organisation should any member get special status? Shouldn't they all be given the same status and conditions?

Cant read it all cos its behind a paywall, feel free to find a better page

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/let-american-firms-run-hospitals-urges-free-trade-group-5rxxd9tb8

Ministers should allow American healthcare companies to compete with the NHS to run hospitals as part of a free-trade pact after Brexit, a think tank recommends.

The Initiative for Free Trade (IFT) said that Britain should also end its ban on imports of products such as chlorinated chicken and accept American environmental and food safety regulations as equivalent to those in the UK.

The moves, it claimed, would help clear the way for a UK-US trade deal that would “rewrite the rules” of global commerce and allow Britain to take advantage of trade freedoms offered by Brexit. The IFT has received backing from Liam Fox, the international trade secretary, and Boris Johnson.

so one of the arguements for brexit was being under the thumb of a foriegn power.........to me all this certainly looks like people wanting us to be under americas thumb, if we arent already

You can pay the extra on my bill too.

I didn’t vote for a fall in my standard of living.

I voted for a fall in the standard of living of the rich and the affluent middle class.

Proud to do so. I do it at every election.

The so called deal we now have with the EU has failed millions of people in the UK.

For decades.

Why on earth would we want to continue with it?

Unfortunately, you are about to see the poor and the working class hit hardest. I do hope you’ll be contributing to the various food banks and solidarity funds that will inevitably follow on from your actions

Why on Earth do you think that making common cause with BoJo and JRM is some kind of passport to a socialist utopia?

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/apr/19/eu-13bn-defence-fund-arms-companies

Why does the EU need a €13bn defence fund? It should be waging peace

"If the EU really is the most successful peace project in the world, then it needs to invest in people and peace-building, not arms sales, militarism and war."

So the same guy who did the other piece.

I'd agree it's not really in their remit, but its 13bn over 7 years. UK defence budget alone is 36bn per year. It boils down to the fact that individual nations haven't the money to spend on the sort of kit the Americans, and particular the Russians have got.

A few quid on my weekly shop is a small price to pay for getting the hell out of the EU.

Why? What does the EU do that you don't like?
