A genuine positive for Leaving the EU is the wholesale nationalisation of the railways. Under EU rule this is an infringement of the Fourth Railway Package - a neoliberal bosses policy which requires governments to open up train services to the markets. 

 

The majority of voters now want the railways to be in the public sector. Unfortunately, EU directives ensure 'open access' operations for private companies on all railway lines within the EU. This means that private profit making companies cannot be legally prevented from operating their unreliable and expensive franchises while we have EU membership.

That article was dated April 7 2016. 

 

Brussels has yet to hand back any VAT powers regarding the tampon tax.

 

It will probably never happen.

You should read the articles that you provide links for.

 

Your article just confirms that a truly nationalised railway system is impossible under EU rule.

 

"Under current EU competition policy, Britain could not recreate a railway monopoly. It could, however, bring much of the rail sector into public ownership."

 

Your article confirms that under neoliberal EU directives a UK government would not be able to stop a private company from operating their own trains on Britain's railway lines for profit.  The British public want both infrastructure and rail services to be state owned and managed, as the franchise model (loved by the EU) is an unreliable and expensive failure.
