What type/class of Business?

Bear in mind by just having a website does not Guarantee you Business will arrive/ visit you may still have to advertise? To have a fully successful  Web Site, requires Social Media, dedication etc......

a 'company' will charge you a fortune

a website look and feel is one thing, but  the site getting you customers, leads and sales, is an on-going process..

Without you promoting the website, telling everyone about it, the only way the site it's self would get you what you are wanting, is with good SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) which is an almost constant process, that can take 6+ months to work properly...

there are SEO companies out there, but again, it's a constant recurring cost...  and it partly depends on the website content, the type of business etc...

Drop me a PM and we can have a chat about it a bit further, drill into it a bit deeper and get you a better understanding of the limitations...

Depends what you are doing on it, but you can do your own from pre-built templates, like Wix and Shopify. They are fairly simple to configure, without programming, and they host it securely for you.

They can be for information only, or have shopping carts built in too.

When you are talking about established websites you dont necessarily see 20 years of development at £25-500K per year. It is hard for new businesses to get started with all singing websites so it is an idea to buy into established partner portals.

Hi Craig, like others have mentioned here, building a web presence is a long process that requires not only dedication, but TIME. Building a website is great, but you need a plan as to how you will get the word out there about your new site. It's quite dependant on the line of work you are in as to which methods of advertising or promotion are the best.

I'm a web developer, I work with small businesses and I'd be happy to help. It certainly won't cost a fortune (depending on your definition of a fortune) as others have stated - send me a message if you'd like and I can show you my website as well as some of my client work and have a chat about your requirements.
