Resident   1,185 #1 Posted March 11, 2019 So I have a Compaq Presario CQ61 given to me as no longer wanted. I've stripped the HDD from it but the rest of laptop seems viable.  Is there a spares/repairs market for a laptop this old or am I better off just binning it? Ghozer   112 #2 Posted March 12, 2019 (edited) If it's working, just without the HDD, it may be saleable as a basic web browsing/word processing machine etc, once a HDD is installed.... if it's none working, then stripping for parts (LCD, Chassis, RAM, Fan Assembly, WiFi module, Optical Drive etc) may be a better approach, strip it down, list them all on on 60 day listings, i'm not saying that everything will sell, but some bits likely will, and so you would at least get something from it....  Edited March 12, 2019 by Ghozer
 Share this content via...
alchresearch   214 #3 Posted March 12, 2019 About a tenner on Ebay.  If you can fit a drive to it and stick on an operating system I'd say you'd get about £30 on the Facebook sale pages or Gumtree.
 Share this content via...
