Whats that got to do with her being called a " coloured woman " ?

For those of us capable of holding more than one idea in our heads at the same time, quite a lot, but since it's you I'd be wasting my breath.

I find it ironic  Abbot playing the race card over this when she is clearly a Racist herself.

So they were making up her quotes and are guilty of libel? Or are you just trying to deflect from the content and try to ignore what Abbott has said in the past?

Ps. How about the Telegraph?

 https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/labour/8996425/Diane-Abbott-forced-to-apologise-in-racism-row-after-claiming-White-people-love-playing-divide-and-rule.html

No doubt the Guardian covered the stories somewhere too. I'm sure they're so balanced that they'd not hide away unfavourable news stories about Labour politicians.

You want to try looking in the Guardian for yourself - they feasted on it for months.

"No Coloreds Allowed" a typical sign in America until just a few decades ago. A good enough reason to stop using the term is to be aware of history and be sensitive to other people's feelings.

Did we not used to have signs here that said 'No blacks or Irish" ?

So why is black (or Irish even) acceptable?

If it's OK for people to be so sensitive about such terminology we had all better watch our p's and q's, because we will eventually create a situation where anything considered offensive terminology is outlawed or criminalised, so the nasty vitriolic leftists better watch out too 😀

Because words are not static, their usage and meaning changes over time.
