sparrowsdad   10 #1 Posted March 1, 2019 Walked past some cleared building land at the back of Decathlon today. Looked like there was an archaeological dig happening. Does anyone know if this is the case and what are they finding or looking for? Thanks
 Share this content via...
andyofborg   11 #2 Posted March 1, 2019 there is usually an archeological survey before major building works  there is the remnants of our rich industrial heritage down there, some of it may be worth investigating before it's lost. Thanks, yes it did look industrial, down to a red brick level that looked like an old floor but some people were clearing very small areas with small pallet knife instruments and brushes more akin to when a skeleton is found. Looked interesting though.
 Share this content via...

darylslinn   10 #7 Posted March 3, 2019 One good thing from this development is that the Porter Brook is opened up and made a focal point running through the area.
 Share this content via...
