Annie Bynnol 612 #4 Posted March 1, 2019 Between 25 August - 30 August 2019 Glossop Road closure so that Blue Route, Yellow Route and TramTrain are all turning at one Cathedral (Cathedral side) platform. That appears to overload the platform. Although it might not solve the problem could they stop short at Ponds Forge would they still be allowed to turn the Blue Route trams at Ponds Forge and run wrong road back to the Station and cross over? Similarly could the TT /Yellow come in wrong road from the crossover before the triangle on Park Square and turn back at Ponds Forge? I guess the timetable for blue and yellow will be done around the tram train to make it all work. It’ll be a max of 15 trams an hour at peak (6x yellow, 6x blue and 3x TT). So one every four minutes. Wonder how frequently the points will fail.
 Share this content via...
Michael_N 36 #6 Posted March 9, 2019 What we need to ask is, will Stagecoach be offering any discount to people who have monthly/yearly passes that have already been purchased through Direct Debit. Will they try and retain these customers, or risk losing them to either other bus operators who run services similar to the tram (120 between Halfway & City for example) or will people just become fed up and switch to the car? What has shocked me, is that for the Hillsborough Corner works, they haven't just simple extended the SL1/SL1A bus beyond Middlewood to Hillsborough, so customers from beyond Middlewood will have to change buses at Middlewood, to then change again at Hillsborough onto the trams. Not like Stocksbridge has much choice as apart from the hourly 57, it's a captive market with Supertram/SL1 & SL1A buses!
 Share this content via...

Wish I could say I was shocked -disappointed yes that once again Stagecoach Supertram demonstrate their complete contempt for the traveling public i hope Jay will return to Middlewood to at least try and coordinate the buses
 Share this content via...
GleadlessLad 12 #10 Posted March 10, 2019 During the work in Area 2, Area 3 & Area 5 anybody travelling from Herdings Park to Meadowhall will need to catch 3 trams each way - Purple to the Station - where that route will be terminating - then Blue to Fitzalan Square & then Yellow to Meadowhall... techgirl 10 #11 Posted April 16, 2019 Hi all. Can anyone tell me what is going to happen to bus services during the Hillsbro corner tram rail replacement? I can't seem to find any information about buses apart from the tram replacement ones. I live in Wisewood/Loxley and would love to know if our services are actually going to be able get us into Town or not. No use asking the drivers, they're as much in the dark as we are. Thanks for any enlightenment.
 Share this content via...
