Major changes to some bus route March 2019

Recommended Posts

most changes in Sheffield are timetable tweaks to help timekeeping due to Sheffield's worsening traffic congestion.

There are however significant changes to the Rotherham network, some of which runs into Sheffield.

One notable change to the Sheffield network however is that the 31a bus from Sheffield-Loxley is withdrawn and replaced with route 31b journeys due to ongoing issues with badly parked cars blocking the route in the Walkley area. Timetable changes on the 31/31b to allow longer journey times through Hillsborough that have become neccessary since cars have been allowed through the bus/tram gate in the daytime mean a frequency reduction is neccessary.

Because that's the Doncaster 52 what runs from South Elmsall in West Yorkshire to Doncaster Interchange.

one way they could improve the accuracy of bus times on some routes would be to simply take them off the timetable.   there are so frequently buses late or missing on some routes its is clearly evident that whoever writes/sets the timetables has no experience of being either a bus driver or passenger..

in my experience in sheffield almost all buses that run through parson cross area and/or the city center especially at busy times are it appears subject to abduction.

i'm sure that others could add to the list of affected routes

I think generally the time tables get an update about 3 times every year. It does vary depending on the company-First/TM/Mainline etc.
