despritdan   241 #29 Posted February 24, 2019 That was a great game between 2 excellent teams and vies with the home win over Villa as the result of the season. For weeks on end, Chris Wilder picked the same team with positive results; now he's rotating the squad and it's fascinating to see the various combinations of the established players with the newcomers. Whichever combination he comes up with seems to work. Dowell and Madine have added to the quality of the squad but it's also nice to see Stearman being rewarded for his patience. The only cloud on the horizon is losing Henderson, Dowell and Madine back to their parent squads at the end of the season but if we go up, we'll be able to afford to buy them and if we don't, their loans may be extended or Chris will find equally impressive replacements. Padders   2,841 #30 Posted February 24, 2019 Just watched the game on EFL, thought Blades were excellent, one bit of criticism , M"cgoldrick through on goalkeeper, and instead of squaring it to an unmarked billy, opted to go for glory, goalie saved.. did"nt the opposite happen last week, when billy unselfishly passed it on to Goldrick to score. petcharlie   10 #31 Posted February 24, 2019 What a fantastic result how can you pick a M O M out of that team they all were great. When you look how much West Brom have spent and then you look at our players it shows you that money is not always what is required to build a good team.It is all to do with who is spending it and if they can see things in a player that others can't. Fleck cost 0, Stevens cost 0, McGoldrick cost 0.Johnston a reject played his best game of the season who would have thought he would play yesterday?Another master stroke by the best boss in the championship.Henderson was back to his usual self and played a blinder and Stevens just gets better and better what a find he is best left back since Hemsley yet he is playing center half as if he has always been a center half.Add Dowell and you have a really good team and it must be said squad to because all those on the bench and some sat at home are more than capable of slotting in.Dowell is getting better with every match and Everton must be well pleased with is development at the Lane.Yet Wilder was not to impressed with it all or is that just a ploy to keep feet on the ground ,he never misses a trick to keep the pressure on the lads. United are brilliant ,no doubt about it they are going up ,but these poor little us comments are getting boring ,there are loads of teams that would love the crowds ,transfer money's and multi millionaire owners that United have. Grappler   12 #33 Posted February 24, 2019 Great result, I think the Blades are the first team to keep a clean sheet at WBA since December 2017, which speaks volumes.  Shame McGoldrick didn't pass to Billy for a nailed on goal, but three points are three points.  Great support as always.
 Share this content via...

The blades are not rich compared with the teams they are battling with Leeds,W.B.A. Aston Villa.Boro,Norwich,Derby,Forest are all mega rich compared to the Blades but compared to the Millers ans Barnsley they are wealthy .Most of the Blades team are made up of freebies and rejects from other clubs like Sharp who at 500,000 quid must be bargain of the century.McGoldrich was a free agent who was shown the door at Ipswich because he was not good enough. Now look where he is now and where they are now.All way through the club there are players who were playing non league footy not to long back like Duffy and Freeman all bargain buys who are running rings around expensive super stars not forgetting Chea Adams who the Blades found playing non league footy who not in the to distant future will earn the club a few bob on sell on clauses. So if you are bored reading how we compete with more affluent clubs can I suggest that you set your own forum up in Barnsley to discuss Barnsley football after all it is not compulsory to come on a Sheffield football forum you are bound to find it boring talking about Sheffield football.
