There is an obvious problem in banning religion for the reasons you’ve outlined,

 

You can't ban religion but what you can do is remove legal protections like the ridiculous blasphemy laws, tax relief given by the use of charitable status and the use of religious belief as a defence against prosecution or failure to comply with equality legislation.

The Radio 4 programme The Moral Maze this week featured the subject of returning ISIS members, in particular Ms Begum. The last speaker was particularly interesting because he said there is intelligence which throws some doubt on her statement that she was ‘just a housewife’. His description of her activities seems to fit this. If true, it is perhaps a contributory factor to her citizenship being revoked.

Now I'm not suggesting this silly little girl in syria is in the same ball park, I'm merely saying things are less black and white than you say they are.

Apologies for been late in responding. I think taken in the round if these two known terrorists had been eradicated early on in their criminal career, then yes, the world would have been better off without them. Just my opinion, others will think very differently.

 

Regarding the young Lady, I would prefer that she never set foot in this Country again, and her child as well. If we do bring her "home" I assume bringing charges against her would be a nightmare, how could we go to Syria to gather evidence, it's not possible is it.  Then of course there is the cost, the Country will have to keep her and the crumb catcher probably until the sprog is 18 and until she shuffles of this earth. Most certainly due to her association with  a terrorist regime, she will need watching, until she pegs.

There’s an article in the Times (I caught the headline on twitter) where they’ve found another ISIS bride who has already been brought back, looks fully westernised and rehabilitated.

As tha never heard about Spanish rival war when the Fascists backed by the Roman Catholic Church slaughtered hundreds of thousands of socialists ,some of them lads where from Sheffield as remembered on a plaque in the Piece Gardens .
