Emergency Services with a dinghy?

Recommended Posts

Just seen two fire engines, a fire and rescue van towing a dingy heading towards DD Way. I dont ever recall seeing an emergency dingy in Sheffield so it peeked my interest. Anyone know whats going on. Im guessing they were heading towards the canal?

The only time I've seen an emergency dinghy in Sheffield, it was floating along the bottom of jenkin Road during the 2007 floods

Sheffield has had one for years. It used to be kept behind the bus garage at Greenland Road or Meadowhall (can't remember which).

It was or is based at Letsby  avenue, I know this because my son built the boat and used to service the engine there
