tiffy   10 #1 Posted April 6, 2004 I managed to buy a small favour tin from a second hand stall on Monday. So far I've learned that these tins, originally an Italian idea, containing five sugared almonds were given to wedding guests - the five almonds representing health, wealth, happiness, longevity and fertility. Does anyone happen to know when actual favour tins were in use rather than the boxes that became common? Was it a common practise for married couples to give these out?
