Recommended Posts

Just in case people haven't heard - there are 12 Da Vinci drawings at the Millennium Gallery

It's free to get in.

Worth a trip to town for this.

Anyone coming?

Oh good - I'll be back in Sheffield for a couple of days in March staying at the Novotel so looking forward to seeing them. A couple of times I've been to the Close de Luce in France where he spent his last 3 years and they've got models of lots of his inventions on display, and also seen some paintings in the Uffizi in Florence. It'll be a real treat to see some of his work in Sheffield.

The new cafe/bar/restaurant, Ambulo, should be open very soon too.

Combine the two for a great day.

Had the pleasure of going to the Da Vinci exhibition in the National Gallery a few years ago, when it featured the largest collection of his works ever assembled.

Bought the "Inventions" pop-up book when we were there, just to round off the visit.

Fascinating man, centuries ahead of his time.

Truly a genius.

I saw the full exhibition in London a few years ago at Buckingham palace (2012 I think it was) - was a few hundred pieces, and I took photos of most of them, (not sure where they are now, may have lost them long ago) and it was great..

Will probably go check this out :)

I went with my granddaughter and we both really enjoyed it. I was just simply in awe at these 500 year old drawings that are so accurate and beautiful. I bought my granddaughter a book about his anatomical drawings because she is an art student and really interested in them.
