Would that be as a result of OPEC adding capacity to the market. The OPEC of which Venezuela is a member?

OPEC has slashed oil production since the start of this year in order to keep the price up.

Oil production in the US has increased in the last few years, so it's cheaper to buy locally obtained oil than import it. Production is expected to reach 12 million barrels per day by mid 2019. To put that into perspective, Venezuela has never produced more than 4 million barrels a day and that was in the early 1970s.

Because he's desperate to get the oil out of the ground and money in the economy again, fully understanding that the country needs a massive injection of cash to become stable again - cash that the government doesn't have in order to kick start oil production again. The country needs investment desperately.

I have been reading an article that was quite interesting regarding Venezuela, they were saying that aid will probably be coming from the Americans that are in Colombia, the aid will probably coming over the border into Venezuela  by the Americans,  now this will give Maduro a very big problem...if he resists, he will be classed as a bad dictator stopping his people getting food and aid, but if he doesnt do anything, he will be allowing a foreign country to invade his country under the guise of giving aid...

it looks like a lose lose situation
