Holocaust Memorial Day 27th Jan.

Recommended Posts

This Sunday is the Holocaust Memorial Day , More important than ever now due to the rise of anti semitism in this Country among certain groups and political parties.

Worth noting also that members of Germany's far right AfD party walked out of a Holocaust memorial ceremony yesterday.

There are still those among us who would inflict such horrors again given half a chance.

Is it worth derailing the thread? A quick Google news search says they were attending a memorial event and walked out when a speaker accused them of playing down nazi crimes.

That's a horrendous accusation of unthinkable crimes. What would you do if someone accused you of that?

Anyway, I hope other events are well attended and well respected by all there.

Maybe you should name those certain groups and political parties?

Are you attacking the Labour party?

If Albert Smith is using the commemoration of the death of millions to score cheap political points, he should at least have the stones to come out and admit it! 😡

The message is loud and clear , Take it how you want , The most important thing is that people of all political and religious persuasions should bow their head in a little thought this coming Sunday and remember the horrors inflicted on a minority by Racists hiding behind their standing in Government or as leaders of religious  sects.

If as Car Boot suggests you're trying to attack the Lab Party, then let's face it they are not anti Semetic carte blanche, otherwise you'd also be accusing it's Jewish members & linked Jewish  groups.

A little more clarity on the political or religious groups you're hinting at.  I'll give you the BNP (if they still exist); EDL to start you off.

I remember the Muslim Council of Great Britain did previously denounce the day but they ended the boycott about a decade ago.

I think Corbyn would probably be wise stay quiet this year, after previous Memorial Days.

Was it  Corbyn  who organised an event in parliament called

“Never Again for Anyone — Auschwitz to Gaza”. .?

Previously on Holocaust Day, likening Israel to the Nazis, Corbyn along with McDonnell  leading plans to scrap the wording Holocaust in favour of genocide.
