X box 360 picture problem

Recommended Posts

Hi all! New poster so be gentle!

I have kindly been given an Xbox 360 but can't get picture on my TV

I have tried all TV settings, changed cables, scarts etc with no success

I know it works because I have had it on a couple of times but not when I'm viewing the actual channel!

If I turn off x box it disappears and I can't get it back

All I get is no signal message on my TV or sound but no pic

Have spent hours and I do mean hours trying to sort it but no success

Surely someone can help

(Pleeeease!)

I don't quite understand your problem?

the xbox works, as it has worked on another TV?
you cannot get it working on a certain OTHER TV, you can get sound, but no picture?

if this is the case, then you likely have the xBox resolution set too high,..

reset the display settings of the Xbox 360 console to the default settings, follow these steps:

  1. Remove any discs from the disc tray.
  2. Turn the console off.
  3. Turn the console on. Note If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn the console on by using the Xbox Guide button on the controller. Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this. The player 1 controller will have the upper-left quadrant light illuminated.
  4. As the console starts, press and hold the Y button, and then the right trigger at the same time for a few seconds.
  5. The Xbox Dashboard resets the display settings to the default settings, and then automatically restarts the console.

Iv already tried this to no avail!

Like I said no pic but sound, then after a while I left the x box running and watched TV for a while, then when I went back to the x box channel it was working! Tried doing the same again but it didn't work, I think in the 3 weeks iv had it its worked about 4 times but there's not set way it comes on, its just when the bloody thing feels like it!

Have you tried it on another TV? or with another cable? or in another connection/port on the TV?

standard trouble shooting, change and test/check everything possible....

as if the above didn't work, then it will either be..

The xBox, The cable, or the TV
