whitelion   10 #1 Posted January 15, 2019 Tuesday 15th January: The Lowdown Acoustic Session The monthly acoustic evening hosted by Rob Lowdon (of Treebeard, Jabberwocky and solo artist)  8.30pm, free entry.  Wednesday 16th January: Quiz Night The highly irreverent Quiz is every Wednesday at The White. Hosted by the inimitable Mr Bling, you and your team must overcome 3 rounds of general knowledge, an audio round and a picture round in order to claim the prize.  Throw into the mix some random challenges, spot prizes, lashings of real ale and a completely free buffet with veggie, vegan and gluten-free options and you're onto a winner.  9pm, 50p entry  Thursday 17th January: Jam Night Hosted by Sheffield legend Chris Firminger and backed by his regular house band The TwoJays, this evening provides a platform for musicians from all over Sheffield and further afield.  Renowned for the musicians it attracts, the Thursday Jam sees regular attendance and performance from the likes of Julian Jones, The Carnival, Open Jaw Fayre, The Crashers, Grave Danger, Fahrenheit, Vamp and many more.  Full backline and P.A. provided, come watch or join in.  8.30pm, free entry  Friday 18th January: Laughing Gravy Laughing Gravy are one of Sheffield's most popular and highly rated Rock and Pop covers bands. With songs ranging from Red Hot Chilli Peppers to Hendrix to Ian Dury, you'll be in for a treat with these boys. A quality act, definitely not to be missed!  9.30pm, free entry  Saturday 19th January: The Carnival Sheffields answer to a question Bono never asked. If you like beer, loud music, bad language and an awesome night out get y'selves to a Carnival gig whenever possible. It's a cure for the working week.  5 albums, 1 E.P. and many, many jaunts around the world later they're still here doing what they do best, playing loud rock/blues and having fun.  9.30pm, free entry.  Sunday 20th January: Benefit for Sheffield Young Carers DJ sets from Rich Pastrami, Katsugi, Si McLean. Table magic from the amazing Benoit. Curry and rice.
