Benefit changes 2019

My son was receiving Eesa every fortnight which then changed to weekly (halved at the start of 2019), however, he expected the benefit today but  it's not appeared on the bank statement, has anyone else received the same experience or knows why?

If your ESA payment is due in the week starting 7 January 2019, you might be paid half of it early in the week starting 31 December 2018. The other half of your payment will be paid on the correct day. Your next fortnightly ESA payment will be paid as normal.
