The BBC quoted the "Pro-Brexit" Swindon MP's statement, not Hondas.  Unsurprisingly, he's desperate for it to be anything but Brexit related, but the reality is that Honda has been warning about exactly this for the last 18 months.  Edited February 18, 2019 by Magilla
 Share this content via...

You expect a multinational manufacturer to wait until brexit day? Seriously? If they wait, and it’s a no deal it’s costing them millions. Frankly I’m amazed they've left it this late. We can be sure they will need to blame someone. I wouldn’t fancy being anything other than very English/British looking when that happens. We should blame the bosses. That is a something Corbyn really needs to think about.  It is all very well saying that Labour MPs in Leave voting constiuencies have to support Brexit, but when these constituencies start to suffer major job losses, you can bet your bottom dollar that the people there will be wanting to know why they weren't warned about it and why their local MP didn't do anything about it.  And let's not forget that even the government's own forecasts predicted that it is these Labour areas which will be hit first, and hardest by the effects of leaving the EU..
 Share this content via...

To be fair they probably waited as long as they could.  First of many announcements.  Only those of us who remember the U.K. in the 70s and 80s will know what it’s like to endure catastrophic economic announcements day after day.  Those days are back. And you will be taking the blame.
 Share this content via...

What about the boss of the country - Mrs May? Ironic this weekend when she asked her mps to "move beyond what divides us" and yet she wasn't willing to compromise on her 'red lines' - lines which she alone has set, not her party, the country or anyone else.  But no, "this lady's not for turning" - not even as she drives the country to a cliff edge!  Suicide, not compromise!!!
