I couldn't make out exactly what it was, but it was small and didn't look like an adult bird of any kind. Do peregrines take prey from nests?  As for her on the egg or eggs. If the original one is still there, I wouldn't have though it would still be alive after so long out in the open. I hope I'm wrong though.
