Mrs. brown's boys....

Recommended Posts

Why?

About as juvenile and unfunny as Peter Glaves and Co. on Crackerjack - "Crackerjack!" - many years ago.

Lousy acting, appalling script, and yet gets peak viewing hours over the Christmas nights.

Can anyone explain the appeal, please?!

There are few programmes as unfunny as this one, heaven knows why so many supposedly intelligent people rave about it. It is total garbage.

I honestly can't watch it, it's absolute tosh.

Nothing about it is funny.

I didn't mind the radio program but the tv series is dire.

It's just not funny.

My Mum thinks it's hilarious. I think it's imbecilic.

It's not even well observed humour, it's just people swearing a lot. That's the joke, a middle aged man dressing up as a common Irish woman whose got a mouth like a sewer.

I can only think it got peak viewing at Christmas because as per usual, telly was dire & people had nothing else to watch.

It's pretty much classic Brexit-era humour isn't it? A throwback to the 70's. Rather like Citizen Khan.  Love Thy Neighbour will be getting a remake next....

Well I have heard it all now, Brexit to blame for Mrs Browns Boys. Surprised it has not been blamed for Father Ted, even though the series finished decades before Brexit came to pass.

I admit I find both of them hilarious. The acting on both, brilliant.

For _+_+*s sake fellow posters get a life and live a little, you may get to like it.

I started to watch Mrs Browns Boys a few years ago and I find it funny.  Ended up watching all of the old ones.

There probably is a lot of people who loathe it, but millions tune in to watch Mammy  at Christmas me included.

My Mum loves it, she's planning on watching the live show.  I think it's rubbish.

I hate it. Its not so much the show itself, its just the snob in me despises the culture around it and the "types" of people I (rightly or wrongly, though probably rightly) perceive enjoying it, and I don't want to be remotely associated with it/them because I do consider myself intellectually above it.
