It was first reported by Dom Howson, then The Star, then Radio Sheffield then all other media outlets copied the original, it was taken out of context as I heard the speech that it was said in, if you want to believe that the clubs up for sale go ahead.

Dont want to spoil a rant with facts but DC arrived back in England and went straight to the training ground, he had a frank meeting with the players to ask what's going wrong and what he can do to help them.

Hmmm...

... that's probably when they told him he should sell the club. :hihi:

Anyway, I thought I read somewhere that for FFP reasons he was trying to sell the ground to a relative and then hire it back for a nominal charge? :suspect:

You thought you read or made it up?

... now that's a good question Mr Top. There's so many people "in the know" that it's hard to decide who to believe.

Maybe I dreamt it?

I'll see if I can find where it was... :)

Andy Giddings says DC repeated it it to journos after the meeting.

Well I've had a quick look but soon got bored reading the same old rubbish, so I've not been able to find it.

But I suppose it's irrelevant now anyway.

I don't understand why a lot of people appear to be surprised by the announcement, unless Mr Tuna gave assurances in the forum last night that he wasn't going to sell.

It seems to me like the most logical thing to do... :|

The stars Dom Howson wrote today, "as part of his closing statement, an emotional Chansiri said he is putting the championship up for sale".

Chansiri also quoted as saying "I am here to make your dreams come true!,

Talk about deluded!

I don't think he owns the championship.  😋

It maybe that DC has got many things wrong during his tenure, including not dealing with the poor performance of the current manager. But the disgusting attacks on DC and his family appear to have led the man to make the decision to put the club up for sale, this is the man that has been the largest investor the club has ever had. WELL DONE.

Beware what you wish for!

That's the thing Jim, we have to take Andy Gidding's word for it, unless it was caught on microphone?, Giddings said that when he asked him he said "it's official, it's on the market"

Mr Tuna ?????????????????? and that's mild , childish but mild , no wonder hes had enough he is a decent man with the right intentions and its not worked . He has been hounded out intentionally and hopefully finds the right buyer but we may look back on his tenure and wish for the days he was here .

Sad sad times Sheffield Wednesday fans hang your heads in shame

Yep have fans forgot about the dave allen era, how much did he put in. I'm not going to say DC has done everyting right but he has backed the manager and had it not been for FFP rules would of more I'm sure.

Not right blaming fans about Rhodes though, if it put us at risk he should of been honest and said it would of put us too close to the fanancial rules

How many times - HE ISNT SELLING THE CLUB.

This was written by someone else and is a true account of what was said:

He made a 20minute speech covering various aspects. A basic summing up of the night.
He said he was getting tired because its hard work.
He said he wasnt happy with his family being affected.
He fully believes not a single swfc fan will cross the line into violence against him.
He said if the fans demand it he can sell the club any time and put it on the market.
He told the journos they could print it.
After some tidbits about ffp and jos he stated if he ever felt he could no longer do good for the club he would sell it to someone who could take the club on which the journos could print as well.

He said at the end he loves this club and is doing his best and hopes to see us all alot more at the next forum.

The bit in bold is what the journo's have twisted a fan stood up after this and said we want you to stay and got a round of applause from the crowd.
