My dear mum would have said it is too cold for snow lol

And my late father-in-law, with his incredibly slow pulse even with a pacemaker fitted, would've been commenting "that's a snow wind"!

Mind you, he'd have been saying that last July as well, even with three layers of clothing...

if you are thinking about coming to Stocksbridge tonight beware the roads and pavements are like glass due to freezing rain.

Listened to the Paul Hussingtree Weather Show, week last Sunday on Radio Sheffield.  (Probably still available on BBC Sounds?)

One of his regular contributors who works out long range weather forecasts based on previous records, nature observations & old weather lore, stated that in the Yorkshire area at least, we'd not have any snow this winter & it'll be dry as well.  Apparently you don't have 2 bad winters in a row.

Got to give a mention here to Twirler who was the best weather forecaster ever.

Sorely missed by me

We had no power all saturday afternoon and evening (oughtibridge area), presumably due to the freezing rain, could have been a coincidence though.

Was slippy over the top at Dungworth as well, went a bit sideways in the car momentarily!

It does seem to snow at times when the temp rises a bit though.
