A new influx of boat people from france.

A absolute pitance, and whilst awaiting deportation.

You're not seriously suggesting that anyone risks their lives in order to get £35/week.   That's £1800 a year!

Speaking of which , its no surprise they risk their lives to sneak in here illegally.  It beggars belief.

If you’ve been refused asylum

You’ll be given:

  • somewhere to live
  • £35.39 per person on a payment card for food, clothing and toiletries .

You couldnt make it up .

Only they get more than that in France (and many other European countries), so your logic doesn't really make sense..

It would be interesting to know how you would deal with a penniless foreigner who turns up on our shores.

Presumably they wouldn’t get past your air and sea defences ,or Dads Army would march them off to the village hall.

You reallyshould start to think things through before exposing yourself to deserved ridicule.

funnily enough theres a post going round about Katie troll Hopkins and the exact same subject, where she bare faced lies with the document in front of her

this is the text in reply to her video (ive put in bold a few major points)

Quote

There's a video of Katie Hopkins going around where she outright, blatantly and deliberately lies about what asylum seekers receive in the UK.
She states asylum seekers 'can choose' where they want to live. The actual document she is reading from states you CAN'T.
She also makes bed a breakfast sound like a glamorous option. She's actually talking about a room with no access to a kitchen (no cooking or clothes washing facilities).
She goes on to quote the amounts for the allowance. £37.75 per week, as if that is a lot to live on. £37.75 per week is not a lot to live on, even JSA is almost double that. And that is literally all they get. They are not allowed to work or claim any other benefit.
She adds in the words "to make it easy to spend what you want to spend" about the prepaid debit card. This is not a quote from the document, she's added that in, phrased to make it sound better, again creating a false element of choice.
This card also allows your spending to be tracked and support can be withdrawn if it's deemed you are buying unnecessary items.
She mentions the £300 maternity grant, alludes this is a privilege and states that "British Citizens are offered nothing of the sort". In fact, a £500 maternity grant is available for British Citizens, as are free prescriptions and eye tests and glasses.
She says that 50,000 people are in receipt of these benefits in order to create outrage at the scale. That may sound like a large number but it is less than 0.1% of all refugees in the world.

Meanwhile, they're still coming in via lorries and coaches, so border security is still lax.

I'd like to see how far you'd last on 35 quid a week.

Anyone who has been refused asylum shouldnt get a penny, neither should they be given free housing.

They should be marched on the next ferry back to France , not given money and housing in this country.

Would you consider giving them bread, water and a bin bag.

Or is that too much?

and hows that work then? not quite as straightforward as that is it? co operation between countries for a start, what about the payment for the ferry company? and booking to charter a ferry.

whats gonna happen after brexit if we have no ferries? :P

They will be held in a Ramsgate high security car park until the harbour is dredged and a ferry service is running.

Actually, with the numbers involved a couple of pleasure boats would be sufficient.

Watched the BBC evening news report last night where they interviewed an Iranian guy, currently living in Liverpool for a number of months, has claimed asylum & awaiting a decision.

He explained to the reporter that he paid €3000 to people traffickers in France, was placed in a boat with others. The people traffickers were in a second boat & shepherded them part way across The Channel.  Apparently this individual actually claimed asylum in France but his application was refused.  He explained that his claim was made on political grounds & the French refuse a high proportion of these, hence him paying traffickers to get to the UK & why he reckons his fellow Iranians are doing the same.

Two points.

1. I thought that once you had an asylum claim refused in another EU country, you were in the system & all other claims in any other EU country were refused?  If this is the case, why would he be allowed to make a claim in the UK?

2. Why having refused his asylum claim did the French not deal with him in the first instance & deport him?

One question I would have liked the BBC reporter to have asked is how did a supposedly penniless migrant get his hands on €3000?
