I'm wanting to plan a cannabis themed wedding in Sheffield and I'm struggling to find suitable venues, caterers & florists etc...

Can anyone help please?

I can't see any reputable venue/florist wanting to participate.

Suitable venue for this would be in a field,  as for as  Florist ? Sounds like you have that covered.   :gag:

Seems odd that someone in the "Events Management Sector" would struggle to find what you're asking for.

we had the same problem when we did a crystal meth based one. It would have been so romantic, capturing the true spirit of love and lifelong commitment to each other.

I'd suggest using hemp as a search term rather than cannabis when you are looking for resouces - so hemp based clothing, hemp based foods and beverages, hemp paper invites, hemp fibre reinforced composite tables and chairs, hempcrete if you can find an application for it, there's obviously a long list of hemp products from medicines to building materials. The more hemp you want in your wedding, the more inventive you'll need to be!

If you wanted cannabis plants to use in flower arrangements and bouquets, you'll need to get sprigs of industrial hemp crops - again hemp farmers locally may be able to help but bear in mind it's seasonal produce! Alternatively you can fill in form MD 29 from the home office, pay the £600 licence and grow industrial hemp yourself.

Specialised Hemp-oriented venues and caterers are too niche and don't exist in this country (yet), and obviously you're going to need to steer away from any suggestion of edible, smokeable or vapeable illegal drugs because [as the many forum bores have accidentally pointed out already] it will create unecessary problems.

Hemp based events are too niche to make a real market, but creating and delivering super-niche events is a good specialism.

Oh, and you'll want to be exchanging vows at twenty past four on April 20th.

As for venues, you could look for somewhere with a name you can pun on - Stoneleigh and Silverstone  spring to mind. Or maybe one of the Greenacres forest wedding venues.

Don't forget hemp's near relatives, nettles and hops - they might be able to feature too - in their natural form in bouqets and arrangements, and in the food and drink (soup/salad and beer). Again nettles are pretty seasonal!

For wedding favours, what about adding a bag of fertile hemp seed in. See if you can source some autoflowering high latitude strains at prices that won't break the bank. There's a present that will keep people thinking of your wedding for weeks to come!

Don't forget you can light the evening do with hemp oil (bit of a waste of something so nutritious) - famously it burns brighter than all the other ancient lamp oils.

"Why use up the forests which were centuries in the making and the mines which required ages to lay down, if we can get the equivalent of forest and mineral products in the annual growth of the hemp fields?" --Henry Ford

Yeah - you could have a lot of fun doing this!
