I'm interested in Metal (not Mental) Fabrication....

In fact making Stuff, Ok with MIG/Stick, just learning TIG..

Any comments?

My Technique using TIG is probably wrong through lack of knowledge as I blow big holes in any thin material?

 

Anyone any suggestions for improvements?

Anyone? TIG Experienced........who can TIG Weld?

I know a great tig welder with many years experience. When he is doing work for me, he often expalins he's doing it in a particular way, particular settings, for a particular reason. You need to go on a course and learn it properly. I've picked up a mig and joined two bits of metal together for quick bodge jobs, but that doesn't mean I can weld.

Going on Courses costs too much, for an OAP I'm just wanting some general pointers!

Unless you could give me maybe his number, name, contact details etc..

he's a Tig Welder of little use to further me forward......with guidance.

he is also a busy man doing a job. he would tell you the same - go on a course.

It's like saying I want to learn to cook, can somebody tell me how.

Sadly Courses seem to vary from £200 - 2000 from one day to 3 Yrs can't see that happening soon on what this caring Govt generously Give......me!

When I mentioned Donations, I meant, Donations of Small bits of Off cuts, like unwanted, pieces of Metal, any considered, would collect, so I can practice....TIG.....

 

I mean some Metals are expensive, to dispose of, or to acquire and I'd sooner, create something like an Art Sculpture else destroy it personally via TIG than it join landfill,  it's my form of making my environmental hobby... cheaper...
