Something worse than that.

It's good story, but not shocking in the scheme of things.

It would be embarrassing, but he doesn't have a conviction, so unlikely.

Don’t be so sure of that.

How would he get into say.......Saudi Arabia

It is to be revealed by one of the newspapers tomorrow that Michael Gove wrote an article for one of the Sunday Newspapers 20 years ago, strongly condemning 'middle class drug users'. During the same period that he was using.

If the revelations of class A drug use don't do for him; the hypocrisy will.

To put all this in perspective Diane Abbott was destroyed in the press for drinking a Mojito

Gove heads a department where for many of the employees - teachers - abusing drugs would see them banned from doing their job. Yet, it’s ok for the head of the department??

How can the Tories recover from this endemic drug abuse history at the very top of the party?

She was, by a stupid paper, also with an ace to grind. Most common sense people wouldn't give s monkeys about the story.

They'll recover because it was 20 years ago, and most people understand people sometimes do things wrong sometimes, but are able to put it in perspective.

People actually do care, and the people who care most are going to be the core Tory vote. They’re fed a daily media diet of being told to hate drug abusers of any type. Note Javid’s October ‘18 crackdown on middle class drug abusers.

This is a complete mess

Exactly. These people have admitted to what looks to be casual drug abuse but at the same time some have argued hard for maintaining its criminal status. They have to do that of course to please their support base who want nothing less.

The reality is they should be arguing for decriminalisation, given their own experiences.

They’re hypocrites, and it’s their hypocrisy IMO that makes them totally unfit to lead.

No she was not "destroyed" for drinking a Mojito. She was drinking alcohol in an alcohol barred area. " The snap of the shadow home secretary began doing the rounds on Twitter after it appeared in The Sun, which showed her sipping from a can of M&S mojito on a Transport for London Overground train - which is banned. " She was castigated for drinking alcohol in an alcohol banned area, on an Overground Train, please get the facts right.

Drinking alcohol in an alcohol banned place, taking coke what's the difference?

The mood music doing the rounds now over the backstabber Gove and his penchant for a dose (or several by his own admission) of the illegal class A drug cocaine is that he was a young man and it was 20 years ago after all, when he was a young man. No, he was 32 not a young man of 18/25. We can do better than this man- surely.

If you honestly cannot differentiate between the two, I despair for your moral compass. I dislike Abbott intensely,  what she did was wrong- period. But to equate having a slurp of alcohol with the taking (several times by his own admission) of cocaine is simply laughable.
