Ghozer   112 #2 Posted November 17, 2018 Check for 'NUM LOCK'! and turn that off....  Often requires the FN key and another...  If you tell us the make/model of the laptop, I can have a look and try figure it out from a picture
 Share this content via...

Ghozer   112 #4 Posted November 17, 2018 If you have done the usual Virus Checks, and also checked that sticky keys is not on (press SHIFT repeatedly) then I would guess your keyboard maybe faulty...  However, I would try and eliminate this by unplugging the keyboard and trying another... Ghozer   112 #6 Posted November 17, 2018 But it is the same problem with laptop keyboard and an external one plugged into it?  If the laptop keyboard is faulty, it can cause an issue with an external one...  If you plug 2 keyboards into a PC, and turn capslock on/off on one of them, it affects both..  If you're sure it's not the keyboard it's self, then you would be looking at some software issue, or spyware, virus, or something else...  If you're sure it's NOT software/virus/spyware etc, then it's likely the Keyboard, and unplugging it and trying an external again would help confirm it...  If you unplug it, and it's still doing it, then you back up all your documents and reset your Laptop, if at that point it's STILL doing it, then you're looking at a deeper issue, such as the mainboard... Ghozer   112 #8 Posted November 17, 2018 It isn’t plugged in and tried different keyboards and only numbers work? ---------- Post added 17-11-2018 at 17:48 ----------  How do I reset it if I can’t even log on please?  Have you physically unplugged and removed the keyboard from the Laptop, then plugged in another keyboard?  Without doing this first, I wouldn't recommend resetting, as you could reset and the issue still be present...  If you are unsure, I could take a look, but wouldn't be until tomorrow now...
