You have repeatdly said that an MP should represent the views of the majority of their constituents regardless of their own views.

 

How is my example any different?

Explain why its different.. What happens to other decisions when there has been no referendum? What does the MP do then?

If there is no referendum, or any kind of vote taken then the MP is under no instruction from their constituents, that is blatantly obvious. As such the MP is tasked to do their best for the area they represent, the choice is theirs.
