A new England team on the horizon

Recommended Posts

Callum Wilson to play with Kane up front.

Wilson has scary pace and his direct running in behind would give England another string to their bow. Has more skill than Vardy too.

Sancho the 18 year old Dortmund winger looks to have amazing balls skills with two feet. Not so direct but a joy to watch.

Sterling on the other wing with Rashford on the bench as backup.

Fodden of Man.City is another obvious player that could add to the level of the current team. Perhaps as a central midfielder though.

Dunk last week is another player that looks the real deal.

Huge threat on set pieces with his size and like McGuire looks very comfortable on the ball.

Chilwell at left back looks already a first eleven player.

England look like favourites to take out the next Euro's to me. Their weakness is still in central midfield with a lack of genuine skill and vision. Fodden looks the best solution there.

A win in a friendly against the USA and suddenly we're world beaters :loopy:

Mind you, your previous picks to improve the team have been pretty wide of the mark for example;

Do you still think Rashford is up there with Messi & Suarez :cool:

Rashford is pretty good,though his finishing at times is so so. Never said he was going to be Messi.

Good to see Southgate giving others a go and not going for the tried and trusted Henderson,Dier,Ali all the time.

Kane is looking a bit slow/ tired these days. He has such ability that a deeper role might serve England well. I certainly do not see Kane lasting that long. He is more Rooney than a Sheringham for longevity.

This newer England team with Sancho and Wilson look much more inventive / creative. Can't always rely on set pieces for the goals.

They've played one friendly against the USA - not the most difficult fixture to make an impression.
